A ray of sunshine illuminated this cold and gray place - a ray in the form of a woman. I heard her before I saw her, a voice, more beautiful than I had encountered in some time, came drifting through the trees. While a lament might have been more suited to this sepulchral locale, she sang a song of joy, of hope and family. Her warm smile greeted any that joined her at the campfire and, just for moment, they were able to forget which realm they inhabited.
As quick as she was to make friends, I got the feeling that to cross her would be a mistake. To remain so positive and upbeat in such a place would require a will of iron. 凱特·登森最早的記憶之一就是自己站在家人面前，嘴裏唱着那天早晨在學校里學會的歌曲，看着笑容洋溢在他們的臉上。當她發現一首歌就能讓人們如此快樂的那一刻，她明白了她這一生想要做什麼。
在她能夠拿得動結他的時候她就開始學習，掌握了，在她八歲的時候就在眾人面前表演。她的媽媽盡一切所能幫助她圓夢，帶她跑遍了賓夕法尼亞，之後一路向南，甚至到了納什維爾。
凱特拿到了各種民間音樂比賽和才藝表演的冠軍，但自己贏就代表着別人輸，這不是她的本性。她僅僅是想表現自己，觸動他人而已。讓大家忘卻世間的煩惱，享受這一刻，哪怕就一會兒。
隨着年齡繼續增長，她變得更加自由，她買下一輛破舊的雪佛蘭卡車，終於能夠靠自己四處週遊了，見見自己的粉絲，認識新的朋友。她的故事並不驚天動地：只是路，結他，或許還有一瓶波本酒來結束美好的一天。
從烈日陽光下到昏暗舒適的酒吧，人們成群結隊的沉浸在她的歌聲還有她原創的關於友誼、父母、愛情和家庭的歌中。
歌曲中的情感也不僅僅是唱着玩的：她會儘可能的多回家看看，在社區里幫忙，跟當地的孩子們玩耍，講述着從世界各地帶回來的故事。她認為這是一種回報自己家鄉的方式，以同樣的方式支持別人。
這是她無數靈感來源的那個家。她總是喜歡在小鎮邊上的樹林裏散步，探索偏僻的林中小徑，找到一處僻靜之地進行創作。她經常會到自己最喜歡的，一個被樹木環繞着的天然洞穴里。

在她周圍，樹葉隨着音樂顫動着，樹枝開始伸長，匯聚成了一種未知生命體。像蜘蛛腿一樣的東西從樹上出現了，包裹住她。她清醒過來了，撿起身旁的石頭想要將它們趕走，但這些東西的表皮像鋼鐵一樣堅硬，石頭一下子就被彈開了。
這些蜘蛛腿一樣的東西像卷鬚一樣纏繞住她，將她帶到黑暗的天空中。迷霧吞噬了凱特和這個未知的生物。
當迷霧散去後，現場沒有留下任何掙扎或生命的痕跡。只剩下一把結他，刻着花朵圖案的撥片和刻着KD字樣的貝殼。

- Kate Denson was originally supposed to be introduced in September 2017 in the LEATHERFACE™ DLC as a dev-original Survivor since The Cannibal did not have a specific antagonist.
- Due to time constraints with the A Nightmare On Elm Street™ DLC releasing just a month afterwards, and the Developers prioritising that, LEATHERFACE™, originally supposed to be a Chapter DLC, had to be downgraded to just a Paragraph DLC and Kate Denson was cut to be reused for a another Chapter down the line. Her Achievements were removed as well.
- Since her files remained in the Game after the release of LEATHERFACE™, data-miners suspected her as a potential dev-original Survivor for the A Nightmare On Elm Street™ DLC, as there were no files pointing to Quentin Smith at the time.
- After the release of A Nightmare On Elm Street™, it was unknown whether or not the Developers would eventually introduce her into the Game at all, until she was finally introduced with Curtain Call in June 2018.
- There were good indications for a re-implementation as the voice-overs for her, which take a lot of time to create, were all finished and implemented into the game files at the time.
- In the Developer Stream #78, a picture of the Daily Rituals in the Developer's internal build showed the "The Awakening" Ritual for 凱特·登森, indicating that she was still part of their internal build.
- Kate Denson's original voice actress up into the 2.0.0a Public Test Build was Marie-Michelle Do, a public relations employee at Behaviour Interactive.
- Her voice actress was changed for the live build as people complained about her scream upon being hooked, the official reason though being that Marie-Michelle Do was always meant as a WIP voice, which is very unlikely the true reason, seen as how much work voice-acting is.
- Her new voice actress is Daphné Poulin Gourdeau, a financial analyst employee at Behvaiour Interactive.
