Treasure Chests are Props which were implemented in Patch 8.0.0.
They spawn only in Trials against The Lich.
Overview[]
Treasure Chests behave similarly to Chests but can be opened much faster, rolling a d20 in the process, which determines its contents.
They can contain regular Items, Magic Items, or one of two special Limited Items related to The Lich: Hand of Vecna or Eye of Vecna.
D20 Rolls[]
1 - 4 | Regular Item |
---|---|
5 - 19 | Magic Item |
20 | Vecna Items |
Regular Items[]
Regular Items will feature either no Charges or only 50 %.
Magic Items[]
Magic Items are the most common Item that can be obtained from a Treasure Chest, and serve to make The Lich's Spells less effective.
Each Magic Item has an associated Spell, which when cast, reveals the Aura of The Lich for 1.5 seconds as well as applying an additional effect.
These include either Boots or Gauntlets of the following:
The Skyguard (Fly)[]
Reveals the Aura of The Lich for the duration of Fly.
- This effect lingers for ?? seconds once Fly ends.
The Nightwatch (Flight of the Damned)[]
Reveals the Auras of Flying Entities during Flight of the Damned.
The Archivist (Dispelling Sphere)[]
Reveals the Aura of the Dispelling Sphere while it is active.
The Interloper (Mage Hand)[]
Reveals the Auras of Pallets affected by Mage Hand.
- Grants a +7 % Haste Status Effect for 3 seconds.
Magic Items are disabled for 60 seconds after coming into contact with a Dispelling Sphere.
Vecna Items[]
Vecna Items are Magic Limited Items provide Survivors attuned to them with special abilities, though at a cost.
They are the rarest Item one can retrieve from Treasure Chests.
Using either of their abilities requires a Survivor to be at full health, as it costs them 1 Health State, as well as reveals their location through Killer Instinct for 3 seconds once the effect ends.
Activating the effects of either Vecna Item applies the Broken Status Effect for 30 seconds.
Vecna Items have their own slots, and can be equipped alongside both Boots and Gauntlets and are immune to the effects of the Dispelling Sphere.
If a Survivor is attuned to either Vecna Item and has accumulated 2 Hook Stages, they can be executed by The Lich when in the Dying State.
Eye of Vecna[]
Rushing out of a Locker grants the following effects for 12 seconds.
- Suppresses their Aura, Scratch Marks, Blood Pools and Grunts of Pain.
- Grants them complete invisibility.
- Grants +25 % Haste.
Hand of Vecna[]
Rushing into a Locker teleports the Survivor to a different Locker that is at least 10 metres away.
- This will trigger a Loud Noise Notification at the target Locker, and cause Killer Instinct to linger for 5 seconds.
Reset[]
Treasure Chests reset themselves after 2 minutes of having retrieved their Item.
However, if the Item is left inside, they will remain open and not reset.
Mimics[]
It can happen that a Treasure Chest is replaced by a Mimic during the Dice Roll.
The Mimic grabs the Survivor interacting with it and triggers a continuous stream of Skill Checks (akin to Merciless Storm).
The Survivor must succeed 4 Skill Checks in order to escape the Mimic, otherwise they are bit and receive damage.
The order of damage goes as follows:
Original Health State | Health State after damage |
---|---|
Healthy | Injured State |
Injured State | Deep Wound |
Deep Wound | Dying State |
