The Realm Beyond is a series of graphical updates as part of a massive rework of most of the assets and Maps found in Template:IconLink, which started with Patch 4.2.0 in September 2020.
In a Developer Diary released mid-February 2021, the Developers expanded on their original plans and also include reworks to the Template:IconLink, including animations, visual effects, textures, etc.
Overview
The update is split across several parts, each updating a handful of assets and Maps from the Game.
This may also include new animations, visuals and sound effects.
Midway Update
At the half-way point of the update series, the Developers also started addressing the Template:IconLink, starting with new locomotion animations for Survivors and texture updates for Character models.
Updates to Characters are planned to include new animations, visual effects, 4K textures and more.
Colour-Blindness Support
Since Dead by Daylight heavily relies on the colour red, Players suffering from colour-blindness often experience difficulties with tracking Template:IconLink, discerning Template:IconLink from backgrounds, etc.
The Developers planned to implement a feature that will allow these Players to address their individual type of colour-blindness and intensity, which was ultimately implemented in Patch 4.6.0:
Part One
The Realm Beyond - Part One was the first part of the graphical update and was implemented with Patch 4.2.0, alongside the release of CHAPTER XVII: Descend Beyond.
