The Realm Beyond
The Realm Beyond is a series of graphical updates as part of a massive rework of most of the assets and Maps found in Dead by Daylight , which started with Patch 4.2.0 in September 2020.
In a Developer Diary released mid-February 2021, the Developers expanded on their original plans and also include reworks to the Characters , including animations, visual effects, textures, etc.

The update is split across several parts, each updating a handful of assets and Maps from the Game.
This may also include new animations, visuals and sound effects.
Midway Update[edit | edit source]
At the half-way point of the update series, the Developers also started addressing the Characters , starting with new locomotion animations for Survivors and texture updates to The Nurse and The Clown.
Updates to Characters are planned to include new animations, visual effects, 4K textures and more.
Colour-Blindness Support[edit | edit source]
Since Dead by Daylight heavily relies on the colour red, Players suffering from colour-blindness often experience difficulties with tracking Scratch Marks , discerning Auras
from backgrounds, etc.
The Developers plan to implement a feature that will allow these Players to address their individual type of colour-blindness and intensity:

The Realm Beyond - Part One was the first part of the graphical update and was implemented with Patch 4.2.0, alongside the release of CHAPTER XVII: Descend Beyond.
