Source Material[]
It's not that hard, there's no lack of consensus, it would be better to get the wiki correct and consistent throughout than to just give up from minute annoyances.
- Origin game: Castlevania (1986)
- Design origin: Symphony of the Night
- Lore origin: 1999 (not a game, already listed in lore section so would be redundant to bring it up again.)
As much as I disagree with this method, I would suggest listing his AND Trevor's origin in a similar manner to how other characters such as the Resident Evil characters are listed, to keep it consistent with the rest of the wiki. First citing the franchise, then citing +the specific media this design incarnation comes from. So in this case it would be...
- Trevor: "He originates from the video game franchise Castlevania, specifically Castlevania: Curse of Darkness (2005)."
- Dracula: "He originates from the video game franchise Castlevania, specifically Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (1997)."
Dracula and Mathias are the same character in the way that Batman and Bruce Wayne are the same character. They should be listed together with a / rather than listed separately.
- I'll rewrite the voice actor segment for you.
- "The Dark Lord is voiced by Crispin Freeman, a Californian voice actor who has voiced several characters in the Castlevania game franchise, including Dracula/Mathias Cronqvist, and Hector."
If you have any source of the wiki's claim of voicing Alucard in Castlevania media, I would love to see it. Proto-Zoalord (talk) 19:08, 23 August 2024 (UTC)
For the umpteenth time: that is not what the Wiki claims, you keep wanting me to show proof of something that I don't say. I'll just remove it at this point.
I do, however, appreciate the list and the suggested changes. I disagree that there appeared to be consensus on this Talk page for a person, like me, who is not familiar with Castlevania. That's why I appreciate the list. Spell the stuff out, that's evidently easier.

I am not against correcting something, absolutely not, but you guys didn't make it easy to do so for someone who doesn't know the source material. Please keep that in mind for future comments. Doc (talk) 09:22, 24 August 2024 (UTC)
EDIT: I updated the pages and the Trivia sections for Dracula and Trevor. Please let me know if something is still amiss and how it would need to be corrected in that case. Doc (talk) 09:34, 24 August 2024 (UTC)
Thanks! Glad to see it all in order. I can more than understand, it's nigh impossible to have knowledge of so much media, especially with the span of decades and mediums these DBD crossovers come from.
My only real nitpick at this point is wiki-wide. I'd reword "specifically (design origin)" on crossover character pages to "this incarnation coming from (design origin)", as the former has an implication of that being a first appearance, while the latter more clearly illustrates the intent. It may help avoid future confusion such as on this talk page. But that's a lot of work to edit, I imagine. Proto-Zoalord (talk) 17:48, 24 August 2024 (UTC)
