Deafened is a semi-used Status Effect featured in Dead by Daylight that can be applied to both Survivors and the Killer.
Mechanic[]
The Deafened Status Effect is a debuffing effect that applies a tinnitus-like effect to affected Players, temporarily muffling all other sounds.
It is unique amongst the Status Effects, as it is not displayed on the HUD, despite several Unlockables using its effect.

Putting a Survivor into the Dying State with your Basic Attack blocks their Aura from being revealed to any Survivor, who is farther than 32/24/16 metres away from them. For the next 15 seconds, the following effects apply to the dying Survivor:
