Blindness is a Status Effect featured in Dead by Daylight that can be applied to both the Killer and Survivors.
Mechanic[]
The Blindness Status Effect is a debuffing effect applied by various Unlockables and some Props.
It suppresses the Aura-reading abilities of the affected Player, with the exception of certain essential abilities which are usually related to objects located in the environment tied to the Killer's Power.
The effect also does not affect Aura-like highlights (e.g. Survivors when Stalking, Players during Nightfall)

- It should be noted that while The Nightmare is unable to read the Aura of Generators he could teleport to while affected by Blindness, he can still see the Teleportation Marker hovering above their location and teleport to them normally.

- The Oni: Blood Orbs left by injured Survivors
- The Executioner: placed Torment Trails
- The Twins: the other Sibling

The last 2/3/4 Survivors you hit with a Basic or Special Attack suffer permanently from the Blindness Status Effect. "She touched your skin, you bear the witch's mark!" | |

Knock Out | The trauma caused by your brutal attacks makes crying for help painfully difficult.
Putting a Survivor into the Dying State with your Basic Attack blocks their Aura from being revealed to any Survivor, who is farther than 32/24/16 metres away from them. For the next 15 seconds, the following effects apply to the dying Survivor:

Ultimate Weapon | When they spot you, they know the end is near.
When you open a Locker, all Survivors within 32 metres of the Locker scream and reveal their location to you.
