Once per Trial, and while you are not on Death Hook, press the Active Ability button while standing in front of a Hooked Survivor to unhook them and trigger the following effects:
- Trade 1 Hook State with the other Survivor to their benefit.
- Causes you to scream.
- Causes you to suffer from the Exposed Status Effect for 60/50/40 seconds.

Description

- Trade 1 Hook State with the other Survivor to their benefit.
- Causes you to scream.
- Causes you to suffer from the Exposed Status Effect for 30/25/20 seconds.
Trivia[]
- Hook States transferred by Shoulder the Burden are indicated by a special Yellow Pip on the Status HUD.
- This Pip is also visible to the Killer, despite the fact that per-Survivor Hook States are usually only displayed to the Survivors.
- Shoulder the Burden triggers the unique Score Event "Burden Shared" after unhooking the target Survivor.
