Description
Your presence helps allies focus, assuaging the panic associated with extreme conditions.
  • Press the Active Ability button while within 6 metres of a hooked Survivor to pause their Sacrifice Process for the next 20/25/30 seconds.
    • This also pauses any Skill ChecksIconHelp skillChecksIconHelp skillChecksIconHelp skillChecks, if the Survivor is in the Struggle Phase.
Reassurance can only be used once per Survivor per Hook Instance.

Limitations[]

  • Reassurance may only be activated once per Survivor per Hook Instance.
Each Survivor in a Trial can have 1-2 Hook Instances, as a Hook Instance occurs whenever the Killer hooks a Survivor on a non-lethal Hook (i.e. their next Hook is not their Death Hook).
  • Reassurance is not mutually exclusive: each non-hooked Survivor can use their own Reassurance on the same hooked Survivor during a Hook Instance, allowing for a hooked Survivor's current Hook Stage to be halted up to 3 times by other Survivors.
    • Assuming a Survivor has 2 Hook Instances, this allows for up to 6 halts, which equates to a maximum duration of 150 seconds (2 minutes 30 seconds) for each Hook Stage and a combined duration of 300 seconds (5 minutes) for the entire Sacrifice process.

1 Hook Instance[]

This assumes that a Survivor transitioned from the Summoning Phase into the Struggle Phase without having been unhooked.
  • Each instance of Reassurance in a Trial can only halt a hooked Survivor's Hook Progression 1 time:
either during the Summoning Phase or the Struggle Phase, but not both.
    • If 1 other Survivor has Reassurance, this allows for a total of 1 halt.
    • If 2 other Survivors have Reassurance, this allows for a total of 2 halts.
    • If 3 other Survivors have Reassurance, this allows for a total of 3 halts.

2 Hook Instances[]

This assumes that a Survivor was unhooked and re-hooked between the Summoning Phase and the Struggle Phase.
  • Each instance of Reassurance in a Trial can halt a hooked Survivor's Hook Progression a total of 2 times:
once during the Summoning Phase and once during the Struggle Phase.
    • If 1 other Survivor has Reassurance, this allows for a total of 2 halts.
    • If 2 other Survivors have Reassurance, this allows for a total of 4 halts.
    • If 3 other Survivors have Reassurance, this allows for a total of 6 halts.

Trivia[]

  • Reassured Survivors are highlighted in white, indicating the use of the Perk to other Players, including the Killer.

PTB Build[]

  • On the Public Test Build for Patch 6.2.0, Reassurance did not have the Hook-Instance limitation and could be used several times on the same Survivor after a cool-down of 40 seconds had elapsed.
    • The change to include a Hook-Instance limitation instead was motivated by potential abuse-cases, in which Survivors could be forced to remain on the Hook for minutes at a time by multiple users of Reassurance, leading to griefing.
