The Player Level is a passive progression feature introduced to Dead by DaylightIconHelp DBDlogoIconHelp DBDlogoIconHelp DBDlogo with Patch 2.0.0.


Overview

The Player Level represents a Player's overall progression on their account from playing ranked Trials and acts mostly as a representative feature of one's playtime.
It is connected with the Iridescent ShardsIconCurrency iridescentShardsIconCurrency iridescentShardsIconCurrency iridescentShards currency, as a specific amount is awarded whenever a Player levels up their Player Level.

The levelling depends on the amount of Experience Points gained from completing a ranked Trial, which itself depends partially on one's performance during said Trial.


Experience Points

Player XP, gained from completing ranked Trials, are what level up one's Player Level.

The amount of awarded XP is determined by one's performance and endurance in said Trial, with the former being based on the Quality of their achieved Emblems, and the latter on how long the Trial lasted for that Player:

  • 1 XP per second for time spent in the Trial.
    • This modifier is capped at 600 XP (i.e. 10 minutes)
  • 18 XP for each Emblem of Iridescent Quality.
  • 12 XP for each Emblem of Gold Quality.
  • 6 XP for each Emblem of Silver Quality.
  • 0 XP for each Emblem of Bronze Quality or none.
  • 300 XP for playing the "First Game of the Day".
    • This modifier is capped at 600 XP (i.e. playing at least one game each as Survivor and as Killer within the current day)

Rift Fragments

Whenever a Rift is open, Experience Points are also passively converted into Rift FragmentsRiftFragmentsRiftFragmentsRiftFragments, with 500 XP granting 1 RF by default and outside of special Events.

Iridescent Shards

A fixed amount of Iridescent ShardsIconCurrency iridescentShardsIconCurrency iridescentShardsIconCurrency iridescentShards are awarded as a bonus for levelling up one's Player Level.

Players can earn approximately 1 IS every 14 XP on average.

Devotion

Levelling up past Level 99 will reset the Player Level to 1 and increase the Player's Devotion by +1.

Currently, this mechanic has no practical use other than displaying how often one has played the Game since the system's inception.
