Prestige Laurie Strode to Prestige 1, 2, 3 respectively to unlock Tier I, Tier II, Tier III of Object of Obsession for all other Characters.

Description

A supernatural bond links you to the Killer.

Whenever the Killer reads your Aura, Object of Obsession activates for the same duration as their Aura-reading action:

The Aura of the Killer is revealed to you.
Increases your Action speeds for Cleansing, Healing, and Repairing actions by 2/4/6 %.

If you are the Killer's current Obsession, the following effect triggers automatically every 30 seconds:

Your Aura is revealed to the Killer for 3 seconds.

Increases your chance of becoming the initial Obsession by increasing the default value by +100 %.
The Killer can only be obsessed with one Survivor at a time.

Looking in the direction of the Killer whenever you are outside of their Terror Radius causes your link to activate Object of Obsession:

Both the Killer's Aura and your own are revealed to each other for as long as the link is maintained:
- If you are the Killer's current Obsession, the link has an increased maximum range of 56/64/72 metres.
- If you are not the Killer's current Obsession, the link has a reduced maximum range of 44/56/64 metres.

Increases your chance of becoming the initial Obsession by increasing the default value by +100 %.
The Killer can only be obsessed with one Survivor at a time.

Change Log

Patch 4.7.0

Rework: reworked the Perk to address its negative use cases.
- Buff: now provides a slight boost to the Survivor's Action speeds for Cleansing, Healing, and Repairing, while their Aura is being read.
- Nerf: moved the Activation condition from the Survivor looking in the Killer's direction to the Killer actively reading the Survivor's Aura instead.
- Change: now triggers automatically for a short duration at a fixed interval if the Perk User is currently the Obsession.

Patch 6.5.0

Quality of Life (undocumented): moved the timer VFX for the automatic Aura-reveal from a separate icon on the Status HUD to the Perk's own icon instead.
Change (undocumented): effects that shield the Perk User's Aura from being read now cause the automatic timer to reset.
- This occurs, for example, when hiding inside a Locker.

Trivia

The original version of Object of Obsession was a controversial Perk amongst the Community, often used by one Survivor in a Survive with Friends Group to stake out and relay the Killer's actions and location to their fellow team mates while keeping their distance.

Aura-reading

The automatic Aura-reveal interaction between the Killer and the Obsession depends on the Killer's ability to read the Aura of the Obsession.
- This means that if the Obsession's Aura is shielded by outside effects (i.e. hiding inside a Locker or using the Perk Sole Survivor) or the Killer is suffering from the Blindness Status Effect, then neither the Killer's Aura, nor the Obsession's Aura will be shown after the 30 seconds elapse.
- This also means, however, that if the Killer's Aura is shielded by outside effects (i.e. the Undetectable Status Effect), then the Killer will still see the Obsession's Aura, but the Obsession not the Killer's.
  - Nevertheless, in that scenario, the icon of Object of Obsession will still light up and the Perk will still apply its other effects.
The Aura-reveal duration can be extended for the Survivor by using Eyes of Belmont or for the Killer by using Lethal Pursuer.
- It should be noted that the two Perks do not stack their bonus durations when active in the same Trial.
