Mystery Boxes are a type of Node that spawns and can be purchased in the Bloodweb .

Overview

Mystery Boxes come in all Rarities and will grant the Player a secret Unlockable of equal or higher Rarity as the Box itself, that is only revealed upon purchase of the Bloodweb Node.

Unlockable Rarity

The Unlockable within originally had a chance to be of any Rarity, with the highest probability for an Unlockable of the same Rarity as the Mystery Box. This could sometimes cause an Ultra Rare Mystery Box to spawn just a Common Unlockable for example.

With the change to the Bloodweb Node cost depending on the Node's Rarity, the Developers hard-coded the game to make it impossible to spawn an Unlockable with a lower Rarity than the Mystery Box.

The table below still lists all chances, as they are still defined in the Game's code, with those unobtainable stroked through:

Special Event Override

During Special Events that enable the spawning of Special Event Unlockables, the Game overrides the aforementioned default probabilities, giving each Mystery Box a blanket 20 % chance to spawn a Special Event Unlockable:

Winter Gifts

During the first Winter Solstice Event, the Developers temporarily added special Mystery Boxes to the Bloodweb, that spawned in every single Level, and twice every 5 levels, and contained a new Reward each time.

• Added Winter Gifts that temporarily replace the Mystery Boxes.

Patch 1.9.0

• Mystery Boxes' Rarity can now range up to Ultra Rare.
• Removed the Winter Gifts.

Trivia

• The Game code refers to Mystery Boxes as "Bloodweb Chests".
• On Dead by Daylight Mobile, Mystery Boxes have a chance to spawn a pack of Auric Cells .
