Moonlight Burrow

Moonlight Burrow is a Lunar New Year Event in Dead by Daylight that took place between 24 January and 7 February 2023, with its early celebrations mini-event starting a week earlier on the 17th.

It kicked off the in-game celebrations in honour of the Chinese Year of the Rabbit.

Overview[]

The Event allowed Players to unlock Cosmetic Rewards, as well as find the Chinese Firecracker and Festive Toolbox Items in their Bloodweb and in Chests.
There was also a daily Log-in Reward of 50,000 Bloodpoints each day, up to a total of 700,000 Bloodpoints (24 January to 7 February 2023).

In-game changes[]

Re-enabled the Lunar-New-Year-themed Lobby.
Re-enabled the Moonrise Theme Music for the Early Celebrations.
Added a new Lunar New Year Theme Music for the main event.
Re-enabled the Lunar Hook Model.
Re-enabled the Lunar Generator Model.
Re-enabled the Red Envelope Offering.
- Re-enabled the Red Envelope Prop, which acts as means to unlock the Cosmetics and behaves similarly to a Glyph.
Re-enabled the Festive Toolbox Item.
Added the Paper Lanterns, which awards a set of buffs for a brief duration, themed after the idea of "run, Rabbit, run!"
Re-enabled the Mystery Boxes to spawn in the Bloodweb.

Early Celebration[]

As a first for an Event, Moonlight Burrow comes with a pre-event taking place between 17 January and 24 January 2023, which already enables the Lunar Lobby and promotes the Event with a sale on the previous Lunar Events' cosmetics, as well as Promo Codes and Daily Log-in Rewards for some selected Lunar Cosmetics.

Main Event[]

Lunar Bonus Bloodpoints[]

Since the Event replaces all Generators and Hooks with their Lunar Celebration counterparts, all Survivors automatically receive bonus Bloodpoints for each repaired Generator and Killers automatically receive bonus Bloodpoints for each Survivor they put on a Hook.

All instances of the Red Envelope Offering award additional bonus Bloodpoints on top of that.

Red Envelope[]

	THIS OFFERING IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE (This Unlockable can no longer be obtained and stockpiles can no longer be used. If it is an Event Unlockable, it may return with its associated Event.) A gesture of generosity to bring good fortune to the unfortunate. Calls upon The Entity for the following effects: Spawns 1 Red Envelope per Player. The Aura of your Red Envelope is revealed to you at the start of the Trial. Interacting with your Red Envelope reveals its Aura to all other Players in the Trial until it is claimed. Opening another Player's Red Envelope triggers the Rabbit's Blessing Score Event, which awards a semi-random amount of Bloodpoints. When another Player opens your Red Envelope during the Trial, you are awarded Bloodpoints and a Cosmetic from the Moonlight Burrow Collection. As Killer, hooking a Survivor onto a Lunar Hook triggers the Lunar Celebration Hook Score Event, which awards bonus Bloodpoints. As Survivor, finishing a Lunar Generator triggers the Lunar Celebration Generator Score Event, which awards bonus Bloodpoints. The bonus Bloodpoints are applied during the Trial. Red Envelope was only available during the Moonlight Burrow 2023 Lunar Event.

Event Mechanics[]

The Event's mechanics are identical to 2022's Lurking Stripes Lunar Event.

Event Rewards[]

In addition to the additional bonus Bloodpoints awarded for interacting with the Red Envelopes, Players can open another Player's Red Envelope during the Trial; doing so will reward them with one of the 10 Event Cosmetic Rewards and grant the owner of the Red Envelope bonus Bloodpoints:

Event Collection[]

The Event also added two new Cosmetic Outfits to the Store, one for Vittorio Toscano and one for Feng Min.

Event Prop[]

Run, Rabbit, run!

Moonlight Burrow introduced a new interactable to the game.

The Paper Lantern spawns in unused Totem spots and can be interacted with by both Killers and Survivors.

The Paper Lantern rewards Players who interact with it with a set of buffs for a brief duration.
The buffs include faster Movement speed (Haste) and faster Vaulting speed.

Trivia[]

The physical manifestation of the Red Envelope shares the behaviour of a Glyph.
The Paper Lantern shares its behaviour with a Treat Pumpkin, which spawns during the Halloween Event.
