Something, or rather someone, is here now. I've never seen this... Shape before. A man hiding behind a mask. He comes with a determination. But more worrying, he comes with an apparent grasp of the hunt. He does not strike me as someone who even went unwillingly to this place. Is there more to this being than I can fathom?
~ Unknown (Potentially Benedict Baker) |
I met him, fifteen years ago; I was told there was nothing left; no reason, no conscience, no understanding; and even the most rudimentary sense of life or death, of good or evil, right or wrong. I met this six-year-old child, with this blank, pale, emotionless face, and the blackest eyes... the devil's eyes. I spent eight years trying to reach him, and then another seven trying to keep him locked up because I realised that what was living behind that boy's eyes was purely and simply... evil.

Template:InfoKiller Michael Myers or "The Shape" is one of 35 Template:IconLink currently featured in Template:IconLink.
He was introduced as the Killer of CHAPTER II: The HALLOWEEN® Chapter, a Chapter DLC released on 25 October 2016.
He originates from the 1978 Horror Movie franchise with the same name, Halloween.
Overview
The Shape is a haunting Killer, intent on monitoring Survivors from a distance to feed his Power. The more he stalks, the stronger and faster he becomes.
His personal Perks, Template:IconLink, Template:IconLink, and Template:IconLink, select one Survivor to become his Obsession and will trigger deadly effects based on the Obsession Status.
His Perks are focused around Obsessions, just like Michael Myers is obsessed with killing, the Killer picks a Survivor, and tags them as his Obsession.
Difficulty rating: Hard
(based on the amount of time and effort that is required to properly learn to play him and use his Power effectively)
Lore
Some humans are simply bad seeds. Seeds infused with a distilled and pure form of evil.
Michael Myers is one of those seeds. He had no issues with causing the pain of others. Instead, it was exactly what he sought. But even life can be tough on those with minds filled with terror. The difference is just how one goes about to solve those problems. For Michael, he had to kill to find some inner peace. As he took his sister’s life, the police found a silent boy dressed as a clown at the scene.
When one stumbles upon a growing fire, one does not pour gasoline on it. But this was an action taken by officials that had no idea how it would shape this demon in the boy's body. Sending Michael to a mental institution was a feeble attempt to save the child. Unsuccessful therapy and nightly screams just made him even more introverted and deranged.
People hoped that Michael Myers would end up a parenthesis, soon to be forgotten and buried, a failure that soon were to rot away. But then...he escaped.

Weapon: Kitchen Knife
The Kitchen Knife is the Shape's primary weapon. An oversized blade with devastatingly sharp edges.
- If he gets a successful hit on a Template:IconLink, the attack cool-down animation is the Shape examining his knife.
- While in Evil Within III, he'll change his knife grip, holding the knife over his head and striking with a downward crescent motion.
Power: Evil Within
Template:Evil Within
Power Trivia
- Each Tier of Evil Within, by default, requires The Shape to acquire 5 Stalk points.
- This is achieved by stalking Survivors.
- Each Trial features a reservoir of 40.4 Stalk points (referred to as "Evil"), which are evenly distributed across all Survivors.
- This means that in the regular 4-Survivor Trials, The Shape can stalk each Survivor for a maximum of 10.1 Stalk points.
- The Shape can stalk any Survivor that is between 2.5 to 39.85 metres from him.
- Outside of this range, no Stalk Points can be drained from the Survivors.
- The colour of a Survivor's outline while being stalked correlates to how many Stalk points can still be acquired from them.
- The colour ranges from white (10.1 points) to red (0 points).
- The rate at which stalking drains Stalk points from a Survivor depends on the distance between them and The Shape: the closer; the faster
0.8333 SP/s @ 100 % efficiency (when close) to 0.08333 SP/s @ 10 % efficiency (when far away).- The Stalk rate to distance ratio appears to be linear, meaning that at a distance of 50 %, The Shape will stalk Survivors at 50 % efficiency.
- This also affects the time it takes to tier up Evil Within:
6 seconds @ 100 % efficiency to 60 seconds @ 10 % efficiency.- It should be noted that the Tier-up time at 50 % of the maximum Stalk distance is 12 seconds, not 30 seconds due to that function describing a curve, rather than being linear.
- Once The Shape reaches Evil Within II, he has no means to return back to Evil Within I.
- The Shape can only drain Stalk points from one Survivor at a time and will prioritise the one closest.
Stances
Switching Evil Within Tiers also changes The Shape's stance or posture.
Additionally, some Add-ons and Perks further change his stance to allow an observant Survivor to realise their use, and warn them of potential danger.
Evil Within I
- Left hand is relaxed and swings freely mid-chase.
- Knife points slightly outwards and swings freely mid-chase.
- Stiff, restrained (deliberate) movement.
Evil Within II
Same as Evil Within I with the following changes:
- Left hand is clenched into a fist and held rigidly at his side.
- Freer, less-restrained movement.
Evil Within III
Same as Evil Within II with the following changes:
- Knife is raised above his head, pointing downwards.
Effect of Unlockables
- Template:IconLink
- Evil Within I Stance at all times.
- Template:IconLink
- Open left hand in all Stances, indicating his readiness to grab Survivors and killing them.
- Slightly different angle at which he holds his Knife in Evil Within III.
- Template:IconLink
- Each Token increases how much he clenches his left hand into a fist in Stances that feature a generally open left hand.
Add-ons for Evil Within
- Add-ons support Mouse-over functionality (desktop version only): hovering over the modifier words with your cursor will reveal the values behind them.
On mobile browsers, the values are displayed in small text after the modifier words. Desktop users experiencing issues with the mouse-over may temporarily switch to mobile view at the bottom of an Article page.

Trivia
- The full name of Michael Myers is "Michael Audrey Myers".
- The Shape was the first Killer to be introduced as a paid DLC.
- The Shape was also the first licensed Character to be released, alongside Laurie Strode.
- The Shape's in-game name is a reference to the original 1978 Movie: during the credits, the character is credited as "The Shape".
- The music that plays when The Shape reaches Evil Within III is from the movie Halloween.
- Originally, when The Shape was about to reach the next Evil Within Tier, the stalked Survivor would hear a remade version of The Hedge, which incidentally plays in the film whilst the protagonist Laurie Strode is being stalked.
- Whenever The Shape changes Evil Within Tiers, a small tune following the Halloween main theme plays throughout the Trial Grounds.
- The Shape's Terror Radius audio is a remake of the original Halloween track, The Hanger.
- The Shape has a small animated trail behind his knife when he swings.
- In Evil Within III, The Shape's knife is in the way of the Red Stain and occasionally reflects its red light.
- The Shape's breathing is slightly different to how it is heard in the original film.
- The Shape's Memento Mori is possibly a reference to how he kills people in the original film, as he often grabs people by the neck and either stabs them or simply suffocates them.
- The Shape, in terms of appearance, is the cleanliest of the Killers, apart from a small blood stain on his left shoulder and one on his knife.
- The Shape was the second Killer to wear a face mask.
- The Shape is the only Killer to date to have Add-ons that grant him the ability to kill Survivors.
- The Shape is one of the most human-looking Killers in the game, as he doesn't have any unnatural alterations to his appearance like most of the other Killers.
- The Shape was the first Killer to have a Power gauge.
