Meet Your Maker X Dead by Daylight was a cross-over Event during the weeks leading up to and briefly during the release of Meet Your Maker, another game made by BHVR, which released on 4 April 2023.
GenMat Barrels
The release of Patch 6.6.1 introduced the GenMat Barrels as a new interactive Prop to Dead by Daylight's Trials, spawning in all of them and behaving akin to the Crown Pillar
during Anniversaries.
They were part of the build-up to the release of Meet Your Maker.
Occurrence
The GenMat Barrels spawned in 3 variants, which each featuring a floating GenMat vial in a different colour:
- Red Barrel (spawned as of 14 March)
- Green Barrel (spawned as of 21 March)
- Blue Barrel (spawned as of 28 March)
Each week leading up to release, a new colour-variant spawned alongside the existing ones in the Trials, meaning that from the second week onwards, all Trials could featured both Red and Green Barrels, and all Trials from the third week onwards could feature all three colour variations at once.
Each variant of the GenMat Barrels triggered a global sound cue when they first spawned during a Trial.
Spawn Behaviour
The GenMat Barrels displayed the same general spawn behaviour as the Crown Pillar did during Anniversaries, with them respawning in a new location after they had been interacted with, or after an internal timer had elapsed.
- Respawn Timer, minimum: 90 seconds
- Respawn Timer, maximum: 120 seconds
In addition to this general behaviour, each Barrel came with its own condition, for when during the Trial it would first spawn:
Red Barrel
The Red Barrel had no special condition and would automatically spawn 20 seconds into every Trial.
Green Barrel
The Green Barrel only spawned after either of the following objectives had been fulfilled by Players:
- The Killer has hooked Survivors for a total of 4 times.
- Survivors have repaired a total of 2 Generators.
Blue Barrel
The Blue Barrel only spawned if a Trial reached the Endgame Collapse
, regardless of how it would be activated.
Use
Both the Survivors and the Killer could interact with the GenMat Barrels to collect a substance called "GenMat".
Collecting the GenMat would cause the GenMat Barrel to dematerialise and respawn in a new location.
Ending the Trial (Killer) or escaping it (Survivor) for the first time per Barrel variant would each unlock a unique Charm.
All Players who had interacted with a GenMat Barrel would emit glowing sparks in the same colour as the GenMat Barrel they had interacted with.
If they had interacted with multiple colour-variants, they would simultaneously emit sparks in each of the corresponding colours.
Cosmetic Rewards
Charms
Upon ending the Trial, a special Score Event would trigger, if the Charms of a given GenMat colour had not yet been unlocked and its unlock condition was met.
The Score Event is called "Charm Unlocked" and is worth 300 Bloodpoints.

Cosmetic Pieces
With the release of Meet Your Maker on 4 April 2023, 4 Codes, redeemable in the in-game Store
, were released.
Each code would unlock a batch of 5 Cosmetic Pieces for a total of 20 different Survivors:
- METMYMAKER unlocks them for the first quintet of Original Survivors: Dwight, Meg, Claudette, Jake, and Nea
- HONORARYCUSTODIAN unlocks them for the second quintet of Original Survivors: Ace, David, Feng, Kate, and Adam
- HRVFANCLUB unlocks them for the third quintet of Original Survivors: Jeff, Jane, Yui, Zarina, and Felix
- NOTATRAP unlocks them for the fourth quintet of Original Survivors: Élodie, Yun-Jin, Mikaela, Jonah, and Haddie
- All Original Survivor except for the newest additions at the time (CHAPTER 27's Thalita and Renato) had received an MYM-themed Torso.
- A week later on 11 April 2023, a final code released for Vittorio's shirt: MASTERMAKER

- GenMat is an abbreviation of "Genetic Material", the most coveted resource on the dying Earth of the Meet Your Maker Lore.
- It is used to progress one's own evolution as a Custodian of the Chimera, a living experiment created as a last resort to save life on Earth.
