Dead by Daylight Wiki
For the Maps known as the Trial Grounds, refer to Realms

Maps are a type of Item The Survivors can use in Dead by Daylight.

Overview[]

Maps are used to track and reveal the Auras of various Interactables located throughout the Trial Grounds, though which ones specifically depends on a Map's inherent ability and equipped Add-ons.

Tracking objects is a passive ability of the Map and merely requires to come within a certain distance (by default 8 metres) of a track-able environmental object for it to be added to the Map.

Original Map[]

The original and only Map up to Patch 1.1.2:

Map An old piece of parchment made out of a skin-like material that is rolled and sealed with an uncoloured leather string.

Holding and channelling the Map unlocks great potential in your Aura-reading abilities, revealing the Auras of all tracked objects at the cost of slowly burning it.

The Map has 20 Charges.

New Maps[]

Patch 1.1.2 added the Rainbow Map as a new variation to the Game:

Rainbow Map An piece of parchment made out of oddly fresh skin with blood on its edge that has yet to dry, and that is rolled and sealed with multiple coloured ropes and cords.

Holding and channelling the Rainbow Map unlocks great potential in your Aura-reading abilities, revealing the Auras of all tracked objects at the cost of slowly burning it.

The Rainbow Map has 20 Charges.

"It disheartens me. All this unspeakable knowledge and gruelling effort and yet nothing tangible, nothing usable to get out of this nightmare." — Vigo's Journal

Spring Map[]

Patch 7.6.0 introduced the Bloodsense Map, a special Spring-themed Map that was made available during the Blood Moon 2024 Spring Event.
It features a unique in-game model and the same basic stats as the Rainbow Map.

Bloodsense Map A bloodstained piece of parchment, hastily rolled and burning with a strange power.

Holding and channelling the Bloodsense Map unlocks great potential in your Aura-reading abilities, revealing the Auras of all tracked objects at the cost of slowly burning it.

The Bloodsense Map has 20 Charges.

Add-ons[]

The following list features all available Add-ons for the Map:

A partial and faded map is drawn on it which by itself is useless.

The bead emits an energy which can be felt and seen by Survivors.
  • Press the Secondary Action button while using the Map to use the Glass Bead to place a Pillar of Light at your current location that can be seen by all Survivors.

Patch 4.2.0[]

Trivia[]

  • During the early months after release, Players frequently joked about the in-game icon for the Map looking a bit like a Burrito.
    • This inspired the Developers to name the Survivor's fourth Community Challenge during the 1 Year Anniversary "Stuffed Burrito".

Perk Interactions[]

Some Aura-reading Perks automatically add all objects they reveal to the Player's Map, regardless of which Add-ons may be used.

  • Detective's Hunch reveals the Auras of nearby Generators, Chests, and Totems after a Generator has been repaired.
  • Déjà Vu reveals the Auras of 3 Generators in close proximity to each other at the start of the Trial, and after a Generator has been repaired.
