Iron Will is a Teachable Perk IconHelp perks.png unique to Jake Park SurvivorJake.png.
It can be unlocked for all other Characters from Level 30 onwards:

Description
This description is based on the changes featured in the PTB of the upcoming (Mid-)Chapter Patch.
You are able to concentrate and enter a meditative-like state to numb some pain.
  • Reduces the volume of Grunts of Pain while in the Injured StateIconHelp injured.png by 25/50/75 %.

Iron Will cannot be used when suffering from Exhaustion, but does not cause the ExhaustedIconStatusEffects exhausted.png Status Effect.

You are able to concentrate and enter a meditative-like state to numb some pain.
  • Reduces the volume of Grunts of Pain while in the Injured State by Several Percent.

Iron Will cannot be used when suffering from Exhaustion, but does not cause the Exhausted Status Effect.

May be unlocked in the Shrine of Secrets or in Jake's Bloodweb at Level 30

Change Log

Patch 2.3.0

  • Buff: removed the while standing still condition from Tiers I & II.
  • Nerf: lowered the sound reduction percentage to 75 % on Tier II.

Patch 5.1.0

  • Buff: Audio volume levels are now multiplicative, meaning that Iron Will is no longer countered by Unlockables that increases the volume of Grunts of Pain to be above 0 %.

Patch 6.1.0

  • Nerf: reduced the audio level reductions to 25/50/75 %.
  • Nerf: added the condition that Iron Will is disabled while one is Exhausted (while not causing it).

Trivia

  • Iron Will only affects Grunts of Pain.
    It does not decrease the sound of the regular breathing all Survivors make across all Health States.
  • Iron Will does not work while in the Dying State IconHelp dying.png.
  • In the old Game Manual, Iron Will featured the following flavour text: "This is nothing!"
  • Iron Will is the first Exhaustion Perk that suffers from the penalty, but does not cause it itself.
