Patch 1.1.2

• Nerf: now only has a chance of 50 % to apply the Dying State on trapped Survivors.
  • This change was necessary as then newly added Diamond Stone (later renamed to Iridescent Stone) usurped the Honing Stone's original effect.

• Buff: now always applies the Dying State.
• Nerf: only applies to Survivors that free themselves from a Bear Trap.
  • Previously, Honing Stone had the chance to apply the Dying State even if a Survivor was freed by someone else.

Trivia

• Honing Stone's original nerf was motivated by the Add-on appearing too frequently in Trials for its strength, prompting the Developers to give its effect to a newly-created Ultra Rare replacement, the Iridescent Stone (then called Diamond Stone).
• Perks that require a Survivor to be put into the Dying State to activate will trigger as soon as a Survivor frees themselves from a Bear Trap.
  • This will not activate Perks that also require a Basic Attack, such as Knock Out or Surge.
• A Survivor with the Endurance Status Effect will not enter the Dying State when freeing themselves from a Bear Trap. Instead, they will be inflicted with the Deep Wound Status Effect, as if they had been hit.
