Description
A Hex rooting its power on hope.
You are animated by the power of your Hex Totem when the Survivors are on the verge of escaping.

Once the Exit Gates are powered, if there is still a Dull Totem remaining in the environment, Hex: No One Escapes Death activates and lights it:

  • Grants a 2/3/4 % Haste Status Effect.
  • Causes all Survivors to suffer permanently from the Exposed Status Effect.

Hex: No One Escapes Death remains inactive if no Dull Totems are available.

Once the Status Effect is revealed to Survivors, Hex: No One Escapes Death reveals the Aura of its Hex Totem to all Survivors within 4 metres and gradually expands that range to 24 metres over the course of 30 seconds.

All effects of the Hex Perk persist until its Hex Totem is cleansed or blessed.

"And the beast became faster and more powerful as if The Entity's shadowy whips were lashing at its back."

Change Log

Patch 1.0.2

  • Change: updated the description to match the Perk's bugged behaviour of already activating once the Exit Gates were powered, rather than after one was opened, acknowledging it as an intended feature.

Patch 1.0.5

  • Nerf: the Perk is now on a timer of 120 seconds upon activation, instead of lasting permanently.
  • Nerf: reduced the Movement Speed bonus from 3/5/5 % to 3/4/4 %.

Patch 1.5.0

  • Rework: turned the Perk into a Hex Perk.
    • Reversal: reversed the previous change that had added a timer, making the Perk permanent again upon activation (given that its Hex Totem remains uncleansed).
    • Nerf: the Perk can now be deactivated by Survivors cleansing its Hex Totem.
    • Nerf: Survivors can now prevent the activation of the Perk altogether by cleansing all Dull Totems before powering the Exit Gates.
  • Change: updated the Perk with the Exposed and Haste Status Effects.

Patch 2.3.0

  • Buff: now applies the Exposed Status Effect on all Tiers.
  • Nerf: reduced the Movement Speed bonus from 3/4/4 % to 2/3/4 %.
  • Nerf: no longer reduces the Cool-down time of successful or missed Basic Attacks.

Patch 6.1.0

  • Nerf: the Hex Totem now reveals its Aura to Survivors upon activation, helping them locate it.
    • Though the range is initially very limited, it increases over the next 30 seconds.

Trivia

  • The flavour text is a reference to a quote in Lord of the Rings: "They run as if the very whips of their masters were behind them." — Legolas, Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, 2002.
  • Hex: No One Escapes Death is often abbreviated as NOED (pronounced like "No, Ed").
  • Hex: No One Escapes Death can be prevented from activating altogether if no Dull Totems exist when the Exit Gates are powered.
  • The skulls in the Perk icon are shared with those in the Achievement Grand Sacrifice.
  • If Hex: No One Escapes Death is transferred to the Hex Totem of Hex: Undying, the Aura-reveal distance is reset to its smallest range and will once again take time to expand.
