Loading Animation
Play as Survivor[]
- formerly known as Be a Survivor
Creates a Lobby for ranked Trials as a Survivor that up three additional (befriended) Survivors can join to then collectively join the matchmaking queue afterwards to play ranked Trials with 5 Players, divided into 4 Survivors and 1 Killer.
Survive With Friends[]
- often abbreviated as SWF
Created a Lobby for ranked Trials for up to 4 befriended Survivors that would then join the matchmaking queue to be matched with a Killer.
This formerly separate queue was merged with the regular Survivor queue in Patch 3.2.0.
Play as Killer[]
- formerly known as Be a Killer
Allows Players to select their choice of Killer and join the matchmaking queue afterwards to play ranked Trials with 5 Players, divided into 4 Survivors and 1 Killer.
Custom Game[]
- formerly known as Kill Your Friends and often abbreviated as KYF
Creates a Lobby for unranked Trials with up to 7 befriended Players, divided into 4 Survivors, 1 Killer, and 2 Spectators.
2v8[]
Allows Players to select their choice of Survivor or Killer and join the matchmaking queue afterwards to play ranked Trials with 10 Players, divided into 8 Survivors and 2 Killers.
The first iteration of the Game Mode, due to its limited-time nature for now, was available between 25 July and 15 August 2024, with other iterations following at a later date.
It features a modified Gameplay Loop, replacing most Unlockables with Skills
and Hooks
with Cages

Trivia[]
- Dead by Daylight used to have a Quick Play mode, designed to randomly join or create a ranked lobby as either a Survivor or the Killer, depending on whichever was faster.
- The mode was ultimately removed as barely any Player used it.
