Dead Man's Switch

Dead Man's Switch is a Teachable Perk IconHelp perks.png unique to The Deathslinger IconHelpLoading deathslinger.png. It can be unlocked for all other Characters from Level 35 onwards:

Perks support Mouse-over functionality
(desktop version only): hovering over the modifier words with your cursor will reveal the values behind them.
On mobile browsers, the values are displayed in small text after the modifier words. Desktop users experiencing issues with the mouse-over may temporarily switch to mobile view at the bottom of an Article page.

You become obsessed with one Survivor.

After hooking the Obsession IconHelp obsession.png, Dead Man's Switch activates for the next 35/40/45 seconds.

  • While activated, any Survivor that stops repairing a Generator IconHelpLoading generators.png before it is fully repaired causes The Entity IconHelp entity.png to block the Generator until Dead Man's Switch's effect ends.
  • Affected Generators are highlighted by a white Aura IconHelp auras.png.

You can only be obsessed with one Survivor at a time.

You become obsessed with one Survivor.

After hooking the Obsession, Dead Man's Switch activates for the next couple of seconds.

  • While activated, any Survivor that stops repairing a Generator before it is fully repaired causes The Entity to block the Generator until Dead Man's Switch's effect ends.
  • Affected Generators are highlighted by a white Aura.

You can only be obsessed with one Survivor at a time.

May be unlocked in the Shrine of Secrets or in The Deathslinger's Bloodweb at Level 35.

Trivia

  • Dead Man's Switch will also block Generators being repaired by multiple Survivors as long as any one of them decides to stop repairing during the activation window.
  • A "Dead Man's Switch" is a common safety feature found on heavy machinery, which will shut it off in case of the operator depressing the switch for too long due to incapacitation.
