Dead by Daylight Wiki

Conspicuous Actions is a Game Mechanic that prevents specific Unlockables from activating under certain conditions.
The mechanic was implemented in Patch 6.1.0.

Overview[]

The mechanic was added as a counter-measure to a long-lasting problem, which saw Survivors use so-called "Second-Chance Perks", as well as other Unlockables that granted the Endurance Status Effect, aggressively and proactively in situations which went against the original intentions and purposes of such Unlockables, to act as a shield for the Survivor in adverse situations, specifically when being tunnelled by the Killer.
Since an aggressive use of a Perk that is meant to shield the Survivor was not the idea, the Developers wanted to introduce a mechanic that would disable the Perk if the Survivor was clearly not in danger anymore (i.e. having healed back up already or repairing a Generator).

The mechanic tracks a Survivor's interactions with Props and other Survivors whenever Endurance is active or their Perk is active, but has not been used yet.
If the game sees that the current interaction improves the Survivor's chances of survival, it is deemed a Conspicuous Action and the Endurance Status Effect or another shield-effect is cancelled immediately.

Interactions[]

The following interactions are considered Conspicuous Actions by the game and will deactivate Endurance prematurely:

  • Cleansing a Totem
  • Blessing a Totem
  • Healing yourself or other Survivors
  • Opening an Exit Gate
  • Performing an Invocation
  • Repairing a Generator
