The Chinese New Year was a Chinese New Year (Lunar New Year) Event in Dead by Daylight
in early 2017.
It kicked off the in-game celebrations in honour of the Chinese Year of the Rooster.
In 2018, it was replaced by the Lunar New Year Events.

All three Events celebrate the Chinese New Year, also known as the "Spring Festival" in modern Mainland China.
It is an important Chinese festival celebrated at the turn of the traditional lunisolar Chinese calendar.
Chinese New Year added 4 new Cosmetics and 1 new Item, the Chinese Firecracker
.
There was also a Firecracker event to screenshot the firecracker and had a chance to win cosmetics. This event happened before the Chinese firecracker was removed from chest and bloodweb.

- The Chinese Firecracker was removed with the release of Patch 1.5.0, a couple of weeks after the Event. The Developers had intended to rework the Item and later re-implement it with different variations and also some Add-ons.
