As a thank you to the Community for supporting Dead by Daylight throughout its first release year, as well as a surprise reward for completing all Community Challenges during the 1 Year Anniversary, the Developers made the Chapter available free of charge.

Description
A Lullaby for the Dark is a free Chapter for Dead by Daylight. Welcome to the other side of Mother Nature. A disturbing side where survival surpasses cannibalism and ends up in solitude. The Huntress will never miss her mark, she will track you, capture you and kill you. Hopefully a former rugby star might bring her down...if he doesn’t get lost in the Red Forest.
Forest of the damned
Survival is all. There are no limits to what one abandoned child will do to make it through the day, year after year after year. Meat holds no face when it’s placed above a fire to be cooked. All she seeks is shelter and a long-lost mother that nature took away. Her simple cottage is all that is left - a mad girl’s paradise in a forsaken forest. Might Mr. King stand a chance against the forces of nature...once it unleashes The Huntress? A Lullaby for the Dark is a new Chapter for Dead by Daylight. It includes a new Killer, a Survivor and a Map.
Killer: The Huntress
The Huntress' Info
How far will you go for something as simple as another breath? What will you do to still your hunger? Anna didn’t start out as the Huntress, it was the need to feed and the cold that formed her, that shaped her future self. Flesh is flesh, no matter which body it stems from. Survival quickly becomes all, as you lose those who made sure you were safe and you are left alone in a hellish forest. The Huntress was moulded into something broken, into someone who simply misses her mother and is now left with nothing but an axe and a hatchet.
The Huntress' Power
"A skill taught by her mother and mastered in the wild.
The Huntress can throw hatchets with deadly precision."
SPECIAL WEAPON: HUNTING HATCHETS
The Huntress stars the Trial with 7 Hunting Hatchets equipped.
Press and hold the Power button to wind up and charge a Hunting Hatchet.
Release the Power button to throw the Hunting Hatchet or press the Attack button to cancel the throw:

- Releasing at maximum charge throws them at 40 m/s.
Hunting Hatchets can be replenished at Lockers.
The Auras of Hunting Hatchets inside Lockers are automatically revealed to The Huntress within 36 metres, when she is out of them.
The Huntress' Perks
The Huntress comes with 3 new Perks.

All effects of the Hex Perk persist until its Hex Totem is cleansed or blessed. "That song, it drives me crazy!" | |
Territorial Imperative | Unlocks potential in your Aura-reading ability.
Whenever you are farther than 24 metres from the Basement while a Survivor enters it, Territorial Imperative activates:
Territorial Imperative has a cool-down of 45 seconds. "We're not safe anywhere..." |
Survivor: David King
- Main article: David King
David's Info
Rookie of the Year
David King is not unique. Not unique when it comes to talent being destroyed by anger. Strength and speed was easy for David. He took up rugby to let out some steam. He had a knack for it. Quickly he rose to fame and people saw a grand career on the rise. But being fueled by rage instead of something positive will thwart yourself. So alcohol and bar fights became his life instead. Still trying to focus internal anger...somewhere. Soon a whole career was gone. But David kept fighting. Illegally and without protection. Friends saw less and less of him, and one day he was gone. He still holds an athletic body and a lot of anger. But now he’s facing something he’s never fought before - something that won’t die.
David's Perks
David King comes with 3 new Perks, designed to go right up into the Killer's face.
Dead Hard | You can take a beating.
After being unhooked or unhooking yourself, Dead Hard activates whenever you are injured and running, and allows you to tap into your adrenaline bank to avoid taking further damage:
Dead Hard causes the Exhausted Status Effect for 60/50/40 seconds. "We were walkin' through t'ginnel one night when a beer bottle flew past me, then another, and another. | |
---|---|---|
No Mither | Go on out, kid, it is just a scratch. Your thick blood coagulates practically instantly.
"I lost it. Just lamped him one. They went and banned me didn't they. Went t'pub afterwards, had a few pints and moved on to the next chapter. I couldn't be mithered with it all anyway, you know what I mean? Can't be arsed." — David King | |
We're Gonna Live Forever | Your few friends deserve the best protection. You benefit from the following effect when healing a dying Survivor:
Performing any of the following actions grants +1 Token to We're Gonna Live Forever:
Any dying Survivor you heal back to injured benefits from the following effect while consuming -1 Token:
"Come on then, let's ave' it! I don't give a shit pal." — David King |
