You are fuelled with an unexpected energy when saving an Ally from a Hook.

For 8/10/12 seconds after unhooking a Survivor, the unhooked Survivor is protected by the EnduranceIconStatusEffects endurance.png Status Effect.

  • Any damage taken that would put the Survivor into the Dying StateIconHelp dying.png will instead trigger the Deep WoundIconStatusEffects deepWound.png Status Effect, after which the Survivor has 20 seconds to Mend themselves.
  • Taking damage while under the effect of Deep Wound or if its timer runs out will put the Survivor into the Dying State.

You are fuelled with an unexpected energy when saving an Ally from a Hook.

For several seconds after unhooking a Survivor, the unhooked Survivor is protected by the Endurance Status Effect.

  • Any damage taken that would put the Survivor into the Dying State will instead trigger the Deep Wound Status Effect, after which the Survivor has 20 seconds to Mend themselves.
  • Taking any damage while under the effect of Deep Wound or if its timer runs out will put the Survivor into the Dying State.

Taking any damage during or reaching the end of the Bleed-Out timer will put the Survivors into the Dying State.

  • Nerf: reduced the Activation timer to 15 seconds.
  • Nerf: reduced the Bleed-out timer to 15/20/25 seconds.

Patch 1.9.2

  • Mechanics Change: Borrowed Time only activates for the unhooked Survivor.
  • Buff: Borrowed Time has unlimited uses.

Patch 2.4.0

  • Mechanics Change: Borrowed Time applies the Deep Wound Status Effect.
    • Nerf: slightly reduced the bleed-out timer.
    • Buff: the bleed-out timer pauses when being chased by the Killer.

Patch 3.4.0

  • Buff: the bleed-out timer now pauses whenever a Survivor is sprinting or Mending.

Patch 4.5.0

  • Buff: changed the bleed-out timer to be 20 seconds across all Tiers.
  • Nerf: changed the Endurance duration to be variable (10/12/15 seconds).

Patch 4.7.0

  • Buff: removed the Terror Radius condition, now allowing Borrowed Time to activate regardless of whether the Killer has a Terror Radius or not.
  • Nerf: reduced the Endurance duration 8/10/12 seconds.


Trivia

  • Borrowed Time triggers each time its user unhooks another Survivor.
  • If a Survivor gets caught in a Bear Trap IconPowers trap.png while under the effects of Deep Wound, freeing themselves or being rescued by another Survivor will return them to the Injured State instead.
    • However, if The Trapper IconHelpLoading trapper.png uses the Honing Stone FulliconAddon honingStone.png Add-on, its effect will override this if the Survivor frees themselves, putting them into the Dying State.
  • Before removing the Terror Radius IconHelp terrorRadius.png condition in Patch 4.7.0, Borrowed Time would not activate to false or illusionary Terror Radii and stealth Killers would not trigger the Perk.
