Overview
Bloodpoints are the general progression Currency for a Player's Characters.
They are used to upgrade the Characters by purchasing Unlockables from the Bloodweb, with each completed Bloodweb also increasing the Character's Level until Level 50.
Bloodpoints are added to a Player's profile and can be used to progress any Character's Bloodweb.
Score Events

Most in-game actions trigger Score Events that are converted into Bloodpoints at the end of a Trial.
Modifiers
Certain Offerings, Perks and Events may modify the amount of Bloodpoints one gains per Trial.
Multiple modifiers generally stack their effects together, but only ever base their calculated bonus on the unmodified amount that was earned in a Trial.
Bloodpoint Cap
Bloodpoints are capped at 2,000,000 Bloodpoints for all Bloodpoints gained from Trials and those awarded from collecting completed Tome Challenges.
Bloodpoints awarded by other sources (e.g. Log-in Rewards, promotional Codes, Email Codes, etc.) are exempt from the Cap and do not count towards it, allowing for an overflow past the Cap.
Category Caps
During the Trial, Players may only accumulate a maximum of 10,000 Bloodpoints in each of the four Scoring Categories, for a maximum of 40,000 Bloodpoints.
Score Events which belong into the Special (Event) Category, are excluded from that Cap.
Bloodpoint-Perks & Bloodpoint-Add-ons
Perks and Add-ons which award bonus Bloodpoints for Score Events will do so mid-Trial, contributing to the progression in their associated Scoring Category.
They cannot exceed the Category Cap.
Bloodpoint-Offerings
Offerings which award bonus Bloodpoints in their associated Scoring Category will do so after the Trial, independently of the Category Cap.
Gaining Bloodpoints
- For a list of all in-game Score Events, as well as a breakdown of their trigger conditions, please refer to Score Events.
Bloodpoints can be obtained either during the Trials by performing certain actions or from the Shrine of Secrets by purchasing a Teachable Perk that was already unlocked.
During a Trial, Bloodpoints are earned in 4 different Categories, that differ between Survivors and Killers.
All Categories are capped at 10,000 and a sound cue plays when that ceiling is reached, displaying 'MAX' on all subsequent Score Events gained in that Category:
Survivor Categories
- Objectives - Repairing Generators and working towards the escape.
- Survival - Staying alive.
- Altruism - Helping other Survivors.
- Boldness - For interactions with the Killer and their objects.
Killer Categories
- Brutality - Hurting Survivors and destroying Objects.
- Deviousness - Awarded for clever use of their Power.
- Hunter - Finding, chasing and catching Survivors.
- Sacrifice - Hooking, Killing, and Sacrificing Survivors for the pleasure of The Entity.
Spending Bloodpoints
Points can be used to unlock Nodes from a Character's Bloodweb, containing Unlockables. As points are not unique to each Character, a Player can use Bloodpoints obtained from playing for example as a particular Survivor to upgrade another Survivors' or the Killers' Bloodwebs.
Nodes come in different Rarities that depend on the type of Unlockable they display. Their cost is directly linked to their Rarity.

Bloodpoint-based Ranking System
Prior to the Emblem Update for Survivors and the Victory Cube for the Killers, a Player's Rank used to be determined by how many Bloodpoints in a Category they had earned during a trial.
The Tally Screen would display all four available Categories and represent the Ranking procedure with a circle. One full circle was equivalent to 5,000 Bloodpoints achieved in the associated Category.
Despite that, Players can receive up to 8,000 Bloodpoints in each Category, meaning that the maximum reward for each match is 32,000 Bloodpoints (disregarding any Unlockables affecting the Bloodpoint-gain). The circle represented the maximum Bloodpoints contributed towards a Player's Rank.
As Players' Ranks are not altered by playing the Kill Your Friends mode, they will only visually receive Bloodpoints from playing this mode, which cannot actually be spent and are not added to the Player profile once the game mode is exited.

Trivia
- Bloodpoints gained from "on-going" actions such as bleeding and repairs will show up after the action "completes".
- When a bleeding Survivor is healed or hooked, the Killer gets points for causing Bleeding.
- When a Generator Repair is finished or the Survivor leaves the Generator, the Survivor gets points for Repair.
- Perks which increase Bloodpoint earnings, if not stated otherwise, only change the in-game value. The cap remains, but is reached more quickly.
- Offerings which increase Bloodpoint earnings only apply post-trial; they do not change the in-game values.
- Thus, Offerings make it possible to technically earn more than the cap for a Category.
- Before the introduction of Iridescent Shards in Patch 1.2.0, Auric Cells in Patch 2.0.0 and the temporary currency of Putrid Serum, Bloodpoints were the only Currency featured in the Game.
