Bleeding is a Game Mechanic featured in Dead by Daylight IconHelp DBDlogo.png.


Overview

Survivors IconHelpLoading survivor.png in either the Injured IconHelp injured.png or Dying State IconHelp dying.png, or afflicted by Deep Wound IconStatusEffects deepWound.png, are affected with Bleeding.
They leave pools of blood trailing after them until they are healed, unless they are using a Perk that prevents this.
The Killer IconHelpLoading killer.png is notified when bleeding Survivors have been healed by a displayed in-game Score Event.

Apt Killers can use the blood pools to track down an injured Survivor, which is especially useful if the Survivor has Iron Will IconPerks ironWill.png and is silent.

On darker Maps, Blood IconStatusEffects bleeding.png is rather difficult to discern from the floor textures, especially in patches of grass. Bloodhound IconPerks bloodhound.png greatly increases the visibility of Blood, thus making it easier to track Bleeding Survivors.

Bleeding is related to the Status Effect Haemorrhage IconStatusEffects bleeding.png.

Babysitter}} Babysitter

While you have a reputation for being self-centred, you risk it all to help those in need.

When you unhook a Survivor, the rescued Survivor will leave neither Scratch Marks IconHelp scratchMarks.png nor Pools of Blood IconStatusEffects bleeding.png for the next 4/6/8 seconds.

  • Both you and the Killer see each other's Aura IconHelp auras.png for 4 seconds.

Blood Echo}} Blood Echo

The agony of one is inflicted onto others.

When hooking a Survivor, all other injured Survivors suffer from the Haemorrhage IconStatusEffects bleeding.png Status Effect until healed and the Exhausted IconStatusEffects exhausted.png Status Effect for 45 seconds.

Blood Echo can only be triggered once every 80/70/60 seconds.

Bloodhound}} Bloodhound

Like a hunting scent hound, you smell traces of blood at a great distance.

Pools of Blood IconStatusEffects bleeding.png are shown in bright red and can be tracked for 2/3/4 seconds longer than normal.

Lucky Break}} Lucky Break

You have had your share of scrapes and bruises, but luck is always on your side.

Whenever you are in the Injured State IconHelp injured.png, Lucky Break activates:

  • Bleeding IconStatusEffects bleeding.png and Scratch Marks IconHelp scratchMarks.png are suppressed for a maximum of 70/80/90 seconds, after which Lucky Break is disabled for the remainder of the Trial.

Lucky Break deactivates when you are Healthy IconHelp healthy.png or in the Dying State IconHelp dying.png.

No Mither}} No Mither

You suffer from the Broken IconStatusEffects broken.png Status Effect for the entire Trial.

Your thick blood coagulates practically instantly:

  • Bleeding IconStatusEffects bleeding.png is suppressed at all times.
  • When injured or dying, Grunts of Pain are reduced by 0/25/50 %.
  • You can completely recover from the Dying State IconHelp dying.png.

Self-Preservation}} Self-Preservation

Life is unforgiving.
The more confirmation you get of that, the more prepared you become.

Whenever another Survivor is hit with a Basic or Special Attack within 12 metres of you, Self-Preservation activates:

  • You will not leave any Scratch Marks IconHelp scratchMarks.png for the next 6/8/10 seconds.
  • When injured, Grunts of Pain are reduced by 100 % for the next 6/8/10 seconds.
  • Bleeding IconStatusEffects bleeding.png is suppressed for the next 6/8/10 seconds.

Sloppy Butcher}} Sloppy Butcher

You know where to hit to make them bleed.

Wounds inflicted by Basic Attacks cause Survivors to suffer from the Haemorrhage IconStatusEffects bleeding.png and Mangled IconStatusEffects mangled.png Status Effects:

  • Haemorrhage increases the Survivor's Bleeding frequency by 50/75/100 %.
  • Both Status Effects are removed once the Survivor is fully healed.

Vigil}} Vigil

You look over your friends even in dire situations.

You recover 10/15/20 % faster from the Blindness IconStatusEffects vision.png, Exhaustion IconStatusEffects exhausted.png, Haemorrhage IconStatusEffects bleeding.png, and Hindered IconStatusEffects hindered.png Status Effects.

  • This effect also applies to all other Survivors within 8 metres of you and lingers for 15 seconds.

  • Survivors injured by a Bear Trap suffer from the Haemorrhage IconStatusEffects bleeding.png Status Effect until healed.

Trivia

  • Combining the Perks Bloodhound IconPerks bloodhound.png and Sloppy Butcher IconPerks sloppyButcher.png will create a bright, almost continuous red-line of blood on the floor, which makes tracking an injured Survivor much easier.
