Some Unlockables unlock potential in one's Aura-reading abilities.

Auras can be seen through any obstacles and usually across large distances. Aura-reading abilities are great for locating Allies, Enemies or Objectives.


Aura ColoursEdit

Auras come in different colours, depending on whether the Aura is from an Objective, an Ally or an Enemy.

Pussy Willow Catkins A handful of small, pristine flower clusters covered in a fine greyish fur.
  • Reveals the Survivor's Aura   for 3 seconds when they trip the Phantasm Trap.
Blackened Catalyst  
Willow Wreath Three frail willow branches attached to form a triangular wreath.
  • Reveals the Survivor's Aura   for 5 seconds when they trip the Phantasm Trap.
 
"Restraint" - Class II An experimental ECT procedure developed within the Fog. Uses a wavelength that links the patient's and Doctor's minds. This procedure is known to cause mild cases of hallucination in the patient.
  • Reveals Survivors' Auras   for 1 second when their Madness Tier increases.

Survivors with Madness suffer from the Affliction of Restraint:

  • Moderately increased Illusionary Doctor duration.
  • The Doctor shares in his patients' Madness in order to read the Auras   of Illusionary Doctors.
Carter's Spark  
"Restraint" - Class III An experimental ECT procedure developed within the Fog. Uses a high stimulus wavelength to link the patient's and Doctor's minds. This procedure is known to cause serious cases of hallucinations in the patient.
  • Reveals Survivors' Auras   for 2 second when their Madness Tier increases.

Survivors with Madness suffer from the Affliction of Restraint:

  • Moderately increased Illusionary Doctor duration.
  • The Doctor shares in his patients' Madness in order to read the Auras   of Illusionary Doctors.
"Restraint" - Carter's Notes An experimental ECT procedure developed within the Fog, crudely annotated. Uses an unbearable stimulus wavelength to link the patient's and Doctor's minds. This procedure is known to cause severe cases of hallucinations in the patient.
  • Reveals Survivors' Auras   for 3 seconds when Madness increases.

Survivors with Madness suffer from the Affliction of Restraint:

  • Moderately increased Illusionary Doctor duration.
  • The Doctor shares in his patients' Madness in order to read the Auras   of Illusionary Doctors.

Reflective Fragment A tiny piece of a highly reflective material most probably from a broken mirror. Evil Within  
Glass Fragment A tiny piece of tinted glass, probably from a broken object. It is impossible to determine its origin.
Mirror Shard A large and sharp piece of a broken mirror.
Vanity Mirror A standing portable vanity mirror in perfect condition except for a fine layer of dust and face powder covering it.
  • When Stalking, Evil Within II   reveals the Aura   of Survivors within 16 metres.
  • Evil Within cannot progress past Evil Within II.
  • Each Hit Score Event grants 100 % Bonus Bloodpoints in the Brutality Category and additional 150 % Bonus Bloodpoints in the Deviousness Category.
  • Slightly decreases The Shape's Movement speed.
Scratched Mirror A standing portable vanity mirror which has been violently scratched with a sharp metallic object.
  • When Stalking, Evil Within I   reveals the Aura   of Survivors within 32 metres.

  • Each Hit Score Event grants 100 % Bonus Bloodpoints in the Brutality Category and additional 200 % Bonus Bloodpoints in the Deviousness Category.
 
Fuming Mix Tape Dark beats, violent shreds and unfathomable vocals from another world fill the mind with a vibrating sixth sense.
  • While using Feral Frenzy, the Repair Progression of Generators can be determined by the intensity of their Auras.

Amanda's Secret A black metal box containing a knife and various medical supplies, such as bandages and compresses. Deep cuts reduce stress and awaken the senses.
  • Gain a notification when a Survivor removes a Reverse Bear Trap.
  • Auras   of Survivors removing a Reverse Bear Trap are revealed to The Pig for 6 seconds.
  • Disables The Pig's ability to see the Auras of Jigsaw Boxes.
Jigsaw's Baptism  
Amanda's Letter A blackmailing Letter for the attention of Amanda. Fills the reader with rage and focus.
  • When crouched, Auras   of Survivors within 12 metres are revealed to The Pig.
  • Available Reverse Bear Traps reduced by 3.
  • Available Jigsaw Boxes reduced by 2.

Leprose Lichen A potent lichen that grows like dust on the rocks in the Upside Down.
  • Reveals the Aura   of all Injured   Survivors while traversing the Upside Down.

Tattoo's Middle Finger The prized middle finger of a large tattooed man. Has a faint taste of machinery oil.
  • The Auras   of Intoxicated Survivors are revealed to you for 6 seconds.
The Afterpiece Tonic  
 
Hellshire Iron The Hellshire's Gang branding iron. Despite folklore, it never made its mark on new initiates, instead having been used to brand particularly quarrelsome bounties.
  • For as long as a Survivor is speared, the Auras   of all other Survivors within The Deathslinger's Terror Radius are revealed for up to 6 seconds.

  • When cloaked, the Repair Progression of Generators can be determined by the intensity of their Auras.
 
Renjiro's Bloody Glove The glove Renjiro held to his sternum following the strike dealt by his son Kazan.
  • All Survivors can see Blood Orbs.
  • A Survivor's Aura is revealed for 2 seconds whenever they come into contact with a Blood Orb, absorbing it in the process.
  • This effect stacks for each Blood Orb absorbed.

Add-ons (Survivor)Edit

Eroded Token A heavily worn out token made of brass. If an inscription or drawing was once engraved in it, it has today completely disappeared. Can be attached to the Key using its jump ring to channel the Key's Aura-reading ability.
  • Reveals Survivors' Auras when within a range of 24 metres.
Key  
Scratched Pearl A porous and scratched white pearl. A minuscule jump ring allows the pearl to be attached to the Key.
  • Moderately increases Key Aura-reading range.
Gold Token A gold token with a dull appearance. Both faces are smooth and void of any inscriptions. Can be attached to the Key using its jump ring to channel the Key's Aura-reading ability.
  • Reveals Survivors' Auras when within a range of 48 metres.
Blood Amber A blood-red amber striped with black veins. The amber is warm to the touch. Can be attached to the Key using its jump ring to channel the Key's Aura-reading ability.
  • Reveals the Killer's Aura when within a range of 32 metres.
  • Tremendously decreases Key Efficiency.
Unique Wedding Ring An engraved wedding ring that emerged from The Fog and resonates with an indescribable and incomprehensible energy.
  • Reveals the Obsession's Aura  .
  • Reduces the odds of being the Obsession.
 
Red Twine A bristly and rough piece of twine of a deep red colour. Can be tied around a map to enhance its Aura-reading ability. Map  
Unusual Stamp A wooden stamp with a cross-hatched rubber pad used to mark documents. It is unclear as to how or by whom this stamp was originally used. Can be used with a map.
  • Moderately increases Map Tracking range.
Yellow Wire A small electrical wire. Both ends are heavily damaged like it has been forcefully torn out of its intended location. Can be tied around a map to enhance its Aura-reading ability.
  • Unlocks the ability to track the Exit Gate   Switches.
Black Silk Cord A smooth black cord with a soft appearance. Can be tied around a map to enhance its Aura-reading ability.
  • Unlocks the Map's ability to track the Hatch  .
Odd Stamp A stamp carved out of sturdy blonde wood. The text found at the base is incomprehensible: "kw'zvre'od". Can be used with a map.
  • Considerably increases Map Tracking range.
Crystal Bead An intricate set of lenses wrapped up in an astonishingly complex apparatus. The gears controlling the lenses' focus move by themselves as to focus on something invisible to humans.
  • All other Survivor see the Auras generated by the Map when activated.

ItemsEdit

Map (Item) An old piece of parchment made out of a skin-like material. Is rolled and sealed with an uncoloured leather string. Holding and channelling the Map unlocks great potential in one's Aura-reading ability which slowly burns the Map. Generators' Auras which you have already encountered are revealed to you for as long as the Map has charges left.
Rainbow Map A piece of parchment made out of oddly fresh skin. Blood on its edge has yet to dry. It is rolled and sealed with multiple coloured ropes and cords. Holding and channelling the Map unlocks a great potential in one's Aura-reading ability which slowly burns up the Map. Objects with Auras which you have already encountered are revealed to you for as long as the Map has charges left.

  Bloodied Blueprint Reveals the Aura   of the Basement Hooks to you for 20 seconds at the start of the Trial.

Tremendously increases the chance of spawning the Basement   in the Killer Shack if available.

  Torn Blueprint Reveals the Aura   of the Basement Hooks to you for 20 seconds at the start of the Trial.

Tremendously increases the chance of spawning the Basement   in the main building if available.

"Though brittle and torn, the design is mostly legible."

Perks (Killer)Edit

  A Nurse's Calling

Unlocks potential in one's Aura-reading ability.

The Auras   of Survivors who are healing or being healed are revealed to you when they are within a range of 20/24/28 metres.

"Still attached to the fragments of her past life, she is drawn to those in need of help."

  Barbecue & Chilli

A deep bond with The Entity   unlocks potential in one's Aura-reading ability.

After hooking a Survivor, all other Survivors' Auras   are revealed to you for 4 seconds when they are farther than 40 metres from the Hook  .

  • Each time a Survivor is hooked for the first time, gain a 25 % stack-able bonus to all Bloodpoint gains up to a maximum of 50/75/100 %.

The bonus Bloodpoints are only awarded post-Trial.

  Bitter Murmur

Unlocks potential in one's Aura-reading ability.

Each time a Generator   is fully repaired, Survivors within 16 metres of the completed Generator will be revealed for 5 seconds.

When the last Generator is fully repaired, all the Survivors' Auras   are revealed for 5/7/10 seconds.

  Blood Warden

As soon as the Exit Gate   is opened, Blood Warden is activated. The Auras   of any Survivors located within Exit Gate areas are revealed to you.

Once per Trial, hooking a Survivor while Blood Warden is active calls upon The Entity   to block both Exits for all Survivors for 30/40/60 seconds.

  Corrupt Intervention

Your prayers invoke a dark power that meddles with the Survivors' chances of survival.

3 Generators located farthest from you are blocked by The Entity   for 80/100/120 seconds at the start of the Trial.

Survivors cannot repair the Generators   for the duration Corrupt Intervention is active.

"It shall be known across the land that the Gods curse the unfaithful." (The Tablet of Adiris, 3.7)

  Cruel Limits

Your ties to the otherworldly manifest when your prey attempts to get away.

Each time a Generator   is repaired, all Windows   and vault locations within a radius of 32 metres from the completed Generator are blocked for all Survivors for the next 20/25/30 seconds.

"The specimen seems to be able to affect the state of nearby objects, as if they existed in some other form within a dimension alternate to our own." — Hawkins National Laboratory

  Dead Man's Switch

You become obsessed with one Survivor.

After hooking the Obsession  , Dead Man's Switch activates for the next 35/40/45 seconds.

While activated, any Survivor that stops repairing a Generator   before it is fully repaired causes The Entity   to block the Generator until Dead Man's Switch's effect ends.

Affected Generators are highlighted by a white Aura  .

You can only be obsessed with one Survivor at a time.

  Deerstalker

Unlocks potential in one's Aura-reading ability.

Reveals dying Survivors' Auras   when standing within 20/28/36 metres.

  Discordance

Any Generator   within a range of 64/96/128 metres that is being repaired by 2 or more Survivors is marked by a yellow Aura  .

When the Generator is first highlighted, Discordance triggers a Loud Noise notification on the Generator.

After the Generator is no longer within range or is being repaired by just 1 Survivor, the highlighted Aura remains for another 4 seconds.

  Gearhead

You've got an ear for well-oiled gears.

After hitting a Survivor 2 times with your Basic Attack, Gearhead activates for 20/25/30 seconds.

Each time a Survivor completes a Good Skill Check   while repairing, the Generator   will be revealed by a yellow Aura   for as long as it is being repaired.

  Hangman's Trick

Your ingenious modifications to Hooks   alert you of tampering.

  • Gain a notification when a Survivor begins sabotaging a Hook.

Unlocks potential in one's Aura-reading abilities.

  • While carrying a Survivor, see the Aura   of any Survivor within 2/4/6 metres of any Hook.

  Hex: Retribution

A Hex that lashes out upon its destruction. Those who cross you will be punished.

Any Survivor who cleanses a Dull Totem   will suffer from the Oblivious   Status Effect for 35/40/45 seconds.

If any Hex Totem   is cleansed, including this one, the Auras   of all Survivors are revealed for 10 seconds.

  Hex: The Third Seal

A Hex that hinders one's Aura-reading ability.

Hitting a Survivor with a Basic Attack while the Hex Totem is active applies the Blindness   Status Effect.

This effect applies to the last 2/3/4 Survivors hit.

The Hex effects persist as long as the related Hex Totem   is standing.

"She touched your skin, you bear the witch's mark!"

  Hex: Undying

A Hex which maintains the vile powers that flow throughout the Trial.

While Hex: Undying is active, Survivors within 2 metres of any Totem   have their Aura   revealed for 4/5/6 seconds.

When another Hex Totem is cleansed, that Hex transfers to an available Dull Totem, losing any Tokens in the process.

  I'm All Ears

Your keen senses are sharpened in the dark Realm of The Entity  .

Unlocks potential in one's Aura-reading ability.

Any Survivor performing a rushed action within 48 metres from your location will have their Aura   revealed to you for 6 seconds.

I'm All Ears can only be triggered once every 60/50/40 seconds.

  Knock Out

The trauma caused by your brutal attacks makes crying for help painfully difficult.

Survivors put into the Dying State by your Basic Attack are not revealed to other Survivors when those are standing outside of a range of 32/24/16 metres.

For the next 15 seconds, the dying Survivor is affected by the Blindness   Status Effect and crawls 50 % slower.

  Lightborn

Unlike other beasts of The Fog, you have adapted to light.

Grants immunity to Blindness caused by Flashlights   or Firecrackers  .

Survivors attempting to blind you have their Aura   revealed for 6/8/10 seconds.

  Surveillance

Unlocks potential in one's Aura-reading ability.

All regressing Generators   will be highlighted by a white Aura  . Once regression ends, Generators will be highlighted by a yellow Aura for 8/12/16 seconds.

The Hearing distance of noises caused by Generator Repairs are increased by 8 metres.

  Territorial Imperative

Unlocks potential in one's Aura-reading ability.

Survivors' Auras   are revealed to you for 3 seconds when they enter the Basement   and you are more than 32 metres away from the Basement entrance.

Territorial Imperative can only be triggered once every 30/25/20 seconds.

"We're not safe anywhere..."

  Thrilling Tremors

Your dark designs and shrewd composure rouse The Entity  .

After picking up a Survivor, all Generators   not being repaired by Survivors are blocked by The Entity and cannot be repaired for the next 16 seconds.

Affected Generators are highlighted by a white Aura  .

Thrilling Tremors can only be triggered once every 100/80/60 seconds.

"The night assists me and it's endless here." — The Ghost Face

  Trail of Torment

You guide your victims along a path of pain and punishment.

After kicking a Generator  , you become Undetectable   until the Generator stops regressing or a Survivor is put into either the Injured State   or the Dying State   by any means.
During this time, the Generator's Aura   is revealed in yellow to all Survivors.

Trail of Torment can only be triggered once every 80/70/60 seconds.

  Zanshin Tactics

Unlocks potential in one's Aura-reading ability.

You are mentally alert and aware of key points on the battlefield.

The Auras   of all Pallets  , Breakable Walls  , and Vaults   are revealed to you within a range of 24 metres.

When a Survivor is damaged, Zanshin Tactics becomes inactive for 40/35/30 seconds.

Perks (Survivor)Edit

  Aftercare

Unlocks potential in one's Aura-reading ability.

You see the Aura   of every Survivor that:

  • You rescued from a Hook   or who rescued you from one.
  • You completed a Healing action on or who completed one on you.

This occurs for up to 1/2/3 Survivor(s) and they will also see your Aura.

All effects of Aftercare are reset upon being hooked by the Killer.

  Alert

Your acute senses are on high alert.

When the Killer breaks a Pallet   or Breakable Wall  , or damages a Generator  , their Aura   is revealed to you for 3/4/5 seconds.

  Babysitter

While you have a reputation for being self-centred, you risk it all to help those in need.

When you unhook a Survivor, the rescued Survivor will leave neither Scratch Marks   nor Pools of Blood   for the next 4/6/8 seconds.

Both you and the Killer see each other's Aura   for 4 seconds.

  Better Together

You seek justice and uncover the truth no matter what obstacle stands in your way.

The Aura   of the Generator you are currently repairing is revealed to all other Survivors located within 32 metres.

If the Killer downs a Survivor while you are repairing a Generator  , you see the Auras of all other Survivors for 8/9/10 seconds.

  Blood Pact

It's as if a latent part of yourself has awakened.
You feel like you can reach out beyond yourself for assistance.

When you or the Obsession   are injured, you both see each other's Auras  .

After healing the Obsession or being healed by the Obsession, you both gain the Haste   Status Effect, moving at an increased speed of 5/6/7 % until you are no longer within 16 metres of each other.

Reduces the odds of being the Obsession.

If you are the Obsession, Blood Pact deactivates.

The Killer can only be obsessed with one Survivor at a time.

  Boil Over

You are a battler and do everything to escape a foe's grasp.

Your Struggle Effects on the Killer are increased by 25/50/75 %.

You obscure the Killer's ability to the Auras   of Hooks   that are within a range of 10/12/14 metres.

  Bond

Unlocks potential in one's Aura-reading ability.

Allies' Auras   are revealed to you when they are within a range of 20/28/36 metres.

  Breakdown

Any time you are unhooked or unhook yourself, the Hook   breaks and the Killer's Aura   is shown to you for 4/5/6 seconds.

A Hook broken by Breakdown takes 180 seconds to respawn.

  Dark Sense

Unlocks potential in one's Aura-reading abilities.

Each time a Generator   is completed, the Killer's Aura is revealed to you for 5 seconds.

When the last Generator is powered, the Killer's Aura is revealed to you for 5/7/10 seconds.

  Déjà Vu

Unlocks potential in one's Aura-reading ability. Paranoia paired with your horror of failure helps prepare you from repeating the same mistakes.

The Auras of 3 Generators   in closest proximity to each other are revealed to you for 30/45/60 seconds, at the start of the Trial and each time a Generator is completed.

If you are holding a Map   that can track Objectives, Generators revealed by Déjà Vu are added to the Map.

  Detective's Hunch

Unlocks potential in one's Aura-reading ability.

After a Generator is completed, the Auras   of Generators  , Chests   and Totems   within 32/48/64 metres are revealed to you for 10 seconds.

If you are holding a Map   that can track Objectives, Generators revealed by Detective's Hunch are added to the Map.

  Distortion

You start the Trial with 3 Tokens.

Whenever the Killer reads your Aura, Distortion activates and a Token is consumed.

For the next 6/8/10 seconds while Distortion is activated, your Aura   will not be shown to the Killer and you will not leave any Scratch Marks  .

Distortion does not activate when you are in the Dying State   or affected by Killer Traps.

  Empathy

Unlocks potential in one's Aura-reading ability.

Dying   or Injured   Allies' Auras   are revealed to you when within 64/96/128 metres of range.

Empathy does not reveal Auras of Allies when they are in the Killer's direct contact.

  Kindred

Unlocks potential in one's Aura-reading ability.

While you are on the Hook, all Survivor Auras are revealed to all Survivors.
If the Killer is within a range of 8/12/16 metres, their Aura is also revealed to all Survivors.

While any other Survivor is on the Hook, all Survivor Auras are revealed to you.
If the Killer is within a range of 8/12/16 metres, their Aura is also revealed to you.

  Object of Obsession

A supernatural bond links you to the Killer.

If you are looking in the Killer's direction, your link will reveal your Auras   to each other.

This effect applies only if you are outside of the Killer's Terror Radius  .

As the Killer's Obsession  , this effect applies to a maximum range of 56/64/72 metres. Otherwise, it applies to a maximum range of 44/56/64 metres.

Increases the odds of being the Obsession.

The Killer can only be obsessed with one Survivor at a time.

  Off the Record

You've learnt that a quiet approach is sometimes best.

Once you are unhooked or escape from the Hook  , Off the Record activates for 60/70/80 seconds.

While Off the Record is active, your Aura   will not be shown to the Killer and Grunts of Pain caused by injuries are reduced by 100 %.

  Open-Handed

Strengthens the potential of you and your team's Aura-reading abilities.

Increases Aura-reading ranges by 4/6/8 metres.

  Plunderer's Instinct

Unlocks potential in one's Aura-reading ability.

Auras   of unopened Chests   and Items   in the environment are revealed to you when standing within a range of 16/24/32 metres.
Grants a considerably better chance at finding an Item of a higher Rarity from Chests  .

  Red Herring

You've noticed that people pay attention to whatever makes the loudest noise.

After repairing a Generator   for at least 3 seconds, it will be highlighted to you with a yellow Aura  . The Generator stays highlighted until it is fully repairing, or you repair a new Generator, or enter a Locker  .

Entering any Locker will trigger a Loud Noise notification for the Killer at the highlighted Generator's location.

Red Herring can only be triggered once every 60/50/40 seconds.

  Repressed Alliance

You're accustomed to being hunted by malicious forces, and you've begun using it to your advantage.

Repressed Alliance activates after repairing Generators   for a total of 80/70/60 seconds.

When repairing a Generator while Repressed Alliance is active, press the Active Ability button to call upon the Entity to block the Generator for 30 seconds, after which Repressed Alliance deactivates.

Affected Generators will be revealed to all Survivors by a white Aura.

  Saboteur

Unlocks potential in one's Aura-reading ability.

  • See Hook   Auras   in a radius of 56 metres from the pick-up spot if a Survivor is being carried.

Unlocks the ability to sabotage Hooks without a Toolbox  .

  • Sabotaging a Hook without a Toolbox takes 2.5 seconds.
  • The Sabotage action has a cool-down of 90/75/60 seconds.
  Sole Survivor

As more of your friends fall to the Killer, you become shrouded in isolation and the Killer's Aura-reading abilities towards you are disrupted.

Your Aura   cannot be read by the Killer within a maximum range of 20/22/24 metres for each killed or sacrificed Survivor.

Increases the odds of being the Obsession.

The Killer can only be obsessed with one Survivor at a time.

  Visionary

You're remarkably focused on your means of escape.

You see the Auras   of Generators   within 32 metres.

Anytime a Generator is completed, Visionary is disabled for 20/18/16 seconds.

  Wake Up!

Unlocks potential in one's Aura-reading ability.

Once all Generators   are powered, Exit Gates   are revealed to you when within a range of 128 metres.

While opening the Exit Gates, reveal your Aura   to other Survivors within a range of 128 metres.

While Wake Up! is active, you open Exit Gates 5/10/15 % faster.

  Windows of Opportunity

Unlocks potential in one's Aura-reading ability.

Auras of Pallets  , Breakable Walls  , and Vaults are revealed to you when within a range of 20 metres.

Windows of Opportunity has a cool-down of 30/25/20 seconds when vaulting or dropping a Pallet during a Chase.

TriviaEdit

  • As a Survivor, hiding in a Locker   will stop any Aura-reading ability of both the Killer and the other Survivors, but will also apply the Blindness   Status Effect.
