A Survivor's Aura-reading

Auras are an integral Game Mechanic in Dead by Daylight IconHelp DBDlogo.png.


Overview[]

For a guide on some in-game distances to better gauge the working-radius of Aura-reading Perks, please refer to Distances.

Some Unlockables unlock potential in one's Aura-reading abilities.

Auras can be seen through any obstacles and usually across large distances. Aura-reading abilities are great for locating Allies, Enemies or Objectives.

Aura-reveal vs. Aura-Flare-ups[]

The are two main types of Auras in Dead by Daylight: Aura-reveals and Aura-Flare-ups:

Whereas Aura-reveals or just Auras are continuous and reveal not only a Survivor's location, but also their every action for their duration, Aura-Flare-ups are a mere snapshot of a Survivor's location at the time of it being triggered.
Unlike Aura-reveals, they do not relay the Survivor's actions and are always of the same red colour.


Aura Colours[]

Auras come in different colours, depending on whether the Aura is from an Objective, an Ally or an Enemy.

Additional Uses[]

  • In cases of Auras being used to showcase a progression of an action, the object's Aura will slowly transition from white when the action begins to red when the action has reached completion.

Survivors with Madness suffer from the Affliction of Restraint:

  • Increases the Illusionary Doctor duration by +8 seconds.

The Doctor shares in his patients' Madness in order to see the Illusionary Doctors.

Odd Stamp A stamp carved out of sturdy blonde wood. The text found at the base is incomprehensible: "kw'zvre'od". Can be used with a map.

Crystal Bead An intricate set of lenses wrapped up in an astonishingly complex apparatus. The gears controlling the lenses' focus move by themselves as to focus on something invisible to humans.

  • Start the Trial with 3 random objects tracked.

A Nurse's Calling A Nurse's Calling Unlocks potential in your Aura-reading ability.
The Auras IconHelp auras.png of Survivors, who are healing or being healed, are revealed to you when they are within a range of 20/24/28 metres.

Barbecue & Chilli Barbecue & Chilli A deep bond with The Entity IconHelp entity.png unlocks potential in one's Aura-reading ability.
After hooking a Survivor, all other Survivors' Auras IconHelp auras.png are revealed to you for 4 seconds when they are farther than 40 metres from the Hook IconHelpLoading hook.png
  • Each time a Survivor is hooked for the first time, gain a stack-able 25 % bonus to all Bloodpoint gains, up to a maximum of 50/75/100 %.

The bonus Bloodpoints IconHelp bloodpoints.png are only awarded post-Trial.

Each time a Generator IconHelpLoading generators.pngis completed, the Auras IconHelp auras.png of Survivors who are within 16 metres of the completed Generator will be revealed to you for 5 seconds.
  • When the last Generator is completed, the Auras of all Survivors are shown for 5/7/10 seconds.
Blood Warden Blood Warden As soon as one Exit Gate IconHelp exitGates.png is opened, Blood Warden activates.
  • The Auras IconHelp auras.png of Survivors IconHelpLoading survivor.png standing within the Exit-Gate area are revealed to you.

Once per Trial, hooking a Survivor while Blood Warden is active calls upon The Entity IconHelp entity.png to block the exits for all Survivors for 30/40/60 seconds.

Cruel Limits Cruel Limits THIS PERK HAS BEEN RETIRED

Your ties to the otherworldly manifest when your prey attempts to get away.
Whenever a Generator IconHelpLoading generators.png is completed, all Windows IconHelp window.png and Vault locations within 32 metres of it become blocked for all Survivors for the next 20/25/30 seconds.

  • The Auras IconHelp auras.png of the block Vault locations are revealed to you for the duration.

"The specimen seems to be able to affect the state of nearby objects, as if they existed in some other form within a dimension alternate to our own." — Hawkins National Laboratory

Dead Man's Switch Dead Man's Switch You become Obsessed with one Survivor.
After hooking the Obsession IconHelp obsession.png, Dead Man's Switch activates for the next 35/40/45 seconds.
  • While activated, any Survivor IconHelpLoading survivor.png that stops repairing a Generator IconHelpLoading generators.png before it is fully repaired causes The Entity IconHelp entity.png to block the Generator until Dead Man's Switch's effect ends.
  • Affected Generators are highlighted by a white Aura IconHelp auras.png.

You can only be obsessed with one Survivor at a time.

Deadlock Deadlock You induce mental suffering by crushing any hope of escape.
Whenever a Generator IconHelpLoading generators.png is completed, The Entity IconHelp entity.png blocks the Generator with the most progression for 20/25/30 seconds.
  • The Aura IconHelp auras.png of the blocked Generator is revealed to you in white during this time.

Deerstalker Deerstalker Unlocks potential in your Aura-reading ability.
The Auras IconHelp auras.png of Survivors IconHelpLoading survivor.pngwho are in the Dying State IconHelp dying.pngare revealed to you when they are within a range of 20/28/36 metres.
Discordance Discordance Any Generator IconHelpLoading generators.png within a range of 64/96/128 metres that is being repaired by 2 or more Survivors is marked by a yellow Aura IconHelp auras.png.
  • When the Generator is first highlighted, Discordance triggers a Loud Noise Notification on the Generator.
  • After the Generator is no long within range or is being repaired by just 1 Survivor, the highlighted Aura will linger for another 4 seconds.

Eruption Eruption The NE-α parasite provides you with the intelligence and awareness needed to set a trap.
After kicking a Generator IconHelpLoading generators.png, its Aura IconHelp auras.png is highlighted in yellow.
  • When you put a Survivor IconHelpLoading survivor.png into the Dying State IconHelp dying.png, every affected Generator explodes and starts regressing, removing the highlighted Aura.
    • Applies an immediate 6 % Progression penalty.
  • Any Survivor repairing a Generator when it explodes will scream and suffer from the Incapacitated IconStatusEffects incapacitated.png Status Effect for 12/14/16 seconds.

Eruption has a cool-down of 30 seconds.

Franklin's Demise Franklin's Demise Your vicious Basic Attacks make Survivors drop their regular Items IconHelp items.png or Limited Items on impact.
  • If not recovered within 150/120/90 seconds, the lost Items will have their Charges depleted by The Entity IconHelp entity.png.
  • The Auras IconHelp auras.png of lost Items are revealed to you within 32 metres and slowly fade from white to red as the timer elapses.

Gearhead Gearhead You have got an ear for well-oiled gears.
After hitting a Survivor twice with your Basic Attack, Gearhead activates for 20/25/30 seconds.

Hangman's Trick Hangman's Trick Unlocks potential in your Aura-reading ability and your ingenious modifications to Hooks IconHelpLoading hook.png alert you of tampering.

Hex: Plaything Hex: Plaything A Hex that toys with a victim's suffering.
If there is at least one Dull Totem IconHelpLoading totem.png remaining in the Trial Grounds, Hex: Plaything activates on a random Totem each time a Survivor is hooked for the first time:

  • The Survivors suffers from the Cursed IconStatusEffects cursed.png and Oblivious IconStatusEffects oblivious.png Status Effects until Hex: Plaything is cleansed.
  • For the first 90 seconds, only the Cursed Survivor is able to cleanse the Hex Totem.
  • The Aura IconHelp auras.png of Hex: Plaything's Hex Totem is revealed to the Cursed Survivor within 24/20/16 metres.

The Hex effects persist as long as the related Hex Totem IconHelpLoading totem.png is standing.

Hex: Retribution Hex: Retribution A Hex that lashes out upon its destruction.
Those who cross you will be punished.
Survivors cleansing any Totem IconHelpLoading totem.png suffer from the Oblivious IconStatusEffects oblivious.png Status Effect for 35/40/45 seconds.
