This outfit is inspired on Mr.Scratch, a major character from the Alan Wake franchise. But this is not Mr.Scratch itself.
Overview[]
'Mr.Scratch is a character and antagonist from the "Alan Wake franchise".
He oftenly looks physically like Alan Wake, however it is said that Mr.Scratch is the entity called "The Dark Presence".
During the events of "Alan Wake 2", Scratch uses this outfit briefly during the game. Later on, Alan Wake will use this exact same outfit.
'Mr.Scratch first appeared in the first Alan Wake, described as "Alan's doppelganger" as he looked just like him. Scratch later appeared being the main antagonist of "Alan Wake's american nightmare" where he was still protrayed as Alan's doppelganger but unlike Alan, he was evil. Later he appeared in "Alan Wake 2" as the main antagonist once again. In this game it was introduced the concept that Mr.Scratch was just the physical manifestation of "The Dark Presence", an evil entity who's sole purpose is to take control of the world and turn it into a Dark Place. "Mr Scratch" can also be found in Alan Wake 2 DLC "Night Springs" during the "Number one fan" episode; This episode if an alternate reality of the game, where Mr Scratch is Alan Wake's twin brother, known as "The bad boy", the outfit he uses during that episode is the same one we see in Dead by Daylight.
However the outfit we have in the game is not Mr.Scratch himself, but Alan Wake using that outfit.
Trivia[]
- Mr.Scratch was originally an Idea to be a killer in the Alan Wake chapter, however this was discarded.
- Mr.Scratch or The Dark Presence is theorized by some to be more powerful than the entity, and some others theorize that The Dark Presence and The entity are the same.
- Mr.Scratch is not the only one that looks exactly like "Alan Wake". As "Thomas Zane" during "Alan Wake 2" also does.
- One of the voicelines "Alan Wake" may have when being healed in Dead by Daylight, says "Just a Scratch. How Ironic" in reference to Mr.Scratch.
- The jacket that Scratch has in the outfit its not actually his, but stolen from an Alan Wake 2 side character, "Jaakko Koskela"
